The 3 Types of Clients in Business



In every business sector, there is a person on the receiving end whom you render your services and sell your products to. These set of humans are necessary because they are the reasons you are not out of business.

During the course of your business transactions, you would encounter different type of clients. I have grouped these different types of clients into three so that you can easily identify them once you come in contact with them..

The "Know It All" Client: This client "knows it all" but still needs your services. From the first meeting, they will make you realize that they only needed your services because they are too occupied to do it themselves. They use every opportunity they get to register this fact in your subconscious.

Wait for that moment you inform them of the amount you are charging for your services. That is when they will do the analytical breakdown on what you will spend on "this and that". The worse part of it all is when they refer you to someone. They will take over your business and help you bill your client as if you are absent. You'll almost not want to pick the calls of  the"know it all" client but you have no choice than to pick because you love them no matter what.

The "Clueless" Client: This client fall under the category of those that you were referred to. "Clueless client doesn't know how it works but they have someone who knows how "it works who referred you to them". The clueless client might seem easy to work with but naturally you won't be motivated to go extra mile for them in terms of creativity. This is because you don't have anything to prove to them, whatever service you render will be accepted by them. Most of the time, you are often referred to the "Clueless" client by the "Know It All" client. Whenever you are meeting with the "Clueless" client, just hope that the Know it all who referred you won't be in attendance. You'll be frustrated that you'd almost render your service free of charge but when a Clueless client meets with you alone, you will be in control of your business transaction.


The "Open-minded client": Every business owner loves transacting with an open minded client. The person who is open to new ideas and listens attentively. He doesn't only nods at all your ideas like an "agama lizard", he also pitches his ideas constructively and let go of it if it is not accepted. In this case, brainstorming is made easier and the project becomes an easy team work between yourself and your client. With this person, your creative faculty becomes activated and leads to productivity.
