3 VENDORS THAT CAN MAKE OR BREAK AN EVENT

In this industry, there are different factors or elements that ensure the smooth running of an event. Asides from these elements, the collaboration of some creative minds are needed to ensure the success of an event. These creative minds are called VENDORS.

Any wrong action or inaction from a vendor can either make or break an event, thus affecting the efforts of the other vendors and the planner. Every event requires different types of vendors. There are loads of vendors depending on the type of event that is being organized.

Today, we are focusing on three vendors that can either make your event a success or the other way round. I am not saying the other ones are not important but the services of these vendors have a long term effect on the guests and events.

1. Photographers

Everyone knows the effect a quality picture has on the beholder.  No one would want to waste their time feeding their eyes with bad pictures. It could cause eye problem for the person, lol, just kidding though. A low quality picture is simply an eyesore, can I hear a resounding “Amen”?. It could undermine the essence and importance of an event. A picture charms the eyes and captivates the mind.

Before a potential client can invest in an event, he would want to see pictures of the previous events done. No sponsor would want to invest in an event they find difficult to relate with through the pictures. Invest in a good photographer for future reference. I know it might be expensive but do not mind the cost because this picture will speak for your work in the future.

2. Caterers

Everyone loves tasty food, no matter how small they are being served. Most of the time, people attend events because of the food especially in here Nigeria. Abeg, don't come for me o, I am a Nigerian also so I know how we roll, (winks). For an event that runs annually or monthly, it will be risky to serve a tasteless food because it will affect the turn up of guests in subsequent events. Money will be wasted if the guests decide not to eat and that will result in a great loss for the organizers.

Before you choose a caterer, “give it a taste”, what I mean is that you should try and taste the food that has been cooked by the caterer. Also ask get reference from realible sources.

3. Usherette

People often call this people “ushers” but the right term  “usherettes”. Certain people think being an event usherette is all about just having a pretty face and wearing a uniformed costume. That is why usherettes misbehave and neglect their duties at the expense of an event. Usherettes should be properly schooled and mentored on the ethics and duties of an usherette before working in an event.

An usherette is expected to escort guests and patrons to their seat. In an event, usherettes are the friends of the guests and they are expected to dress neatly. Usherettes should remain calm and treat all guests with respect in all situation. As a result of being rude and lazy, some usherettes have marred an event from getting sponsors and guests.

Like I said earlier, I am not placing the importance of these vendors over other vendors but a person needs to be very tactical in picking the vendors mentioned.  I want to give a big shout out to all the vendors out there, you guys are amazing. Let's  keep the good work going.
